Senator Lindsey Graham was born in South Carolina on July 9, 1955.
He was the first member of his family to attend college, graduating from the University of South Carolina in 1981.
While he was in college both of Graham’s parents died, leaving him to raise his younger sister, Darline, and become her legal guardian.
Graham went on to join the Air Force, serving from 1984 to 1988. He returned to active duty in 1990, serving in the Reserves until 2015.
In 1995, Graham was elected to the House of Representatives, where he worked until he was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2003.
Graham is unmarried with no children.

Senator Lindsey Graham was booed at former President Donald Trump’s rally on Saturday, July 1, 2023, in Pickens, South Carolina.

The crowd booed as Graham said, in part: “Welcome to Pickens… Thanks a bunch. Well, you wanna find something in common?
“Just calm down for just a second. I think you’ll like this. Pickens County has more Medal of Honor winners per capita than any place in the nation. I was born in this county. I live 15 miles down the road.
“This is a place where people pay the taxes, fight the wars and tell you what they believe. How many of you believe that Donald Trump was a great president?”
The audience cheered when Graham mentioned Trump, but then continued to express their disapproval for the senator.
As reported, Graham has faced backlash from Trump supporters due to his stance on multiple issues, including his thoughts on the Russia-Ukraine war.
Some also took issue with remarks he made about Trump after the 2020 presidential election.
This was also not the first time Graham has been booed.

The crowd began to shout “no” and booed Graham off stage when he suggested they get the Covid-19 vaccine if they hadn’t already.
“If you haven’t had the vaccine you ought to think about getting it because if you’re my age,” Graham started, before he was abruptly cut off by the audience.
“I didn’t tell you to get it, you ought to think about it,” he added.
Graham finished off by telling the crowd he doesn’t believe in vaccine mandates for military and healthcare workers.
What did Donald Trump say about Senator Graham at his rally?
At the July 1 rally, Trump attempted to garner support for Graham amidst the disapproving crowd, as Fox News reported.
While speaking of Graham, the former president said to the audience: “We’re gonna love him.”
He continued: “I know, it’s half-and-half. But when I need some of those liberal votes, he’s always there to help me get ’em, okay?
“We got some pretty liberal people, but he’s good. We know the good ones. We know the bad ones, too.”
