THIS is the shocking moment an interview with a Muslim woman about Islamophobia is interrupted by a man making an Islamophobic remark.
Student Ruqaiya Haris, 23, was being quizzed for a TV show in a London park when the man shouted out: “There’s no Sharia law here.”
Ruqaiya then confronts the white male who insists he hadn’t addressed the comment at her.
She says: "If you've got something to say, you can say it.
"Do you want to talk about Sharia law? You want to talk about Sharia law to me? We can talk about Sharia law. You obviously said it for a reason."
The man replies: “But I wasn't talking to you.
"We're losing our right to freedom of expression. We are.
"We're being told to be politically correct when we don't want to be politically correct."
Reporter Catrin Nye - who was interviewing Ruqaiya for The Victoria Derbyshire Show in Altab Ali park in Whitechapel, East London told “During an interview with Ruqaiya Haris a man, who later told us his name was Paul, sat beside us on a wall and made comments that were affecting the sound recording.
"We asked him to keep his voice down and he replied saying he had a right to freedom of speech.
"This happened a few times and then he said ‘there’s no Sharia law here yet’ which is what prompted the discussion you can see in the report. Paul gave us his consent to appear on camera."
Her report revealed there were 7,000 tweets deemed to be Islamophobic posted on Twitter every single day of July.
