Cops in Sweden say they are unsure of the exact motive for the shocking attack.

It has emerged that a man convicted over a fatal shooting at a nearby restaurant last year was registered to the address where little Yuusuf was killed.

Two people died and eight were wounded when masked gunmen burst into the establishment and sprayed the room with automatic gunfire on 18 March last year.

Two men were sentenced to life in prison just two weeks ago for their part in the incident, described by prosecutors as a “pure massacre”.

Officers are reportedly looking into whether the two incidents are linked.

Organised crime is an increasingly serious problem in Gothenburg, with gangs employing brutal tactics as they battle for control of various areas.

One expert in Swedish organised crime even compared the city to the “Wild West”, according to The Local.
