THIS is the shocking moment a circus acrobat came tumbling off a 15ft tightrope and knocked himself out.
The daredevil performer was blown off the rope, which was 4.5 metres above ground, in windy conditions.
He came tumbling down from the razor-thin rope and knocked himself unconscious as he crashed to the ground.
Thankfully the unnamed performer was unharmed - despite landing on his head after the dangerous fall.
He is seen smiling cheerfully at the start of the minute-long video clip - but his grin is soon turned upside-down after the heart-stopping plummet.
Fellow performers and a first-aider rushed to help the circus act after he landed on his head at around 1.30pm on Monday in Jubilee Square, Leicester.
The red-faced acrobat quickly regained consciousness and luckily did not need hospital treatment.
One eyewitness said: "It was his second attempt to walk across the tightrope.
"In a previous attempt he slipped off but was able to control his landing.
"The second time he was trying to walk across and the wind got up.
"He crouched down to try and regain his balance but then fell off.
"He landed on his head it looked quite nasty."
The man was performing as part of a 90-minute display by Circus Raj - a street circus troupe from Rajasthan in India, who have performed all over the world.
The troupe had bee invited to take part in the City Festival - a 10-day city centre event organised by community dance organisation Nupur Arts.
Smita Vadnerkar, a director of Nurpur Arts, said: "He is okay. He was up and walking about quite quickly.
"The circus performed in Jubilee Square between 12.30pn and 2pm and then moved to the Clock Tower.
"They were to juggle and perform tricks and he wanted to take part, but his manager told him to sit it out."
Vadnerkar said Circus Raj spend four months travelling the UK each year.
She added: "They tour the country then go back to India for a rest and to practice their routines."
A spokesperson for Leicester City Council, who gave the troupe permission to perform in the public area, added: "Fortunately the performer was uninjured.
"He was tended to by an on-site first-aider and a hospital visit was not required."
