Nude production of Shakespeare’s The Tempest sparks outrage in New York over plans for all-female cast to strip naked in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park

A NUDE play set to be performed in a park in New York has caused outrage among parents of local children.
The Tempest, produced by the Torn Out Theatre company, features a naked all-female cast.
Set to be performed in September, it mirrors a similar production held in Manhattan's Central Park in May.
Adelle Cekic, from Brooklyn, told : "My son, he's five years old. He might ask questions that I would not be able to answer."

The play's director, Pitr Strait, told the broadcaster he wanted the play to demonstrate nudity in a "non-threatening and non-sexual" way.
Set to run in Brooklyn's Prospect Park from September 7 - 10, the show will be free and starts at 5.30pm.
Pitr explained why he chose Shakespeare's The Tempest on the production company's website.
He said: "In nearly all of his plays, Shakespeare touched in one way or another on the collision between old and new, ordinary and radical.
"His final play is no exception. Because of that, The Tempest will always speak to an audience ready for new ideas.
"We hope our audience will leave our Tempest as transformed as our characters."
