Celebrity Big Brother gun alert as police arrest armed man just yards from studio hours before live final
A man with a gun was arrested just metres away from where the remaining six Big Brother contestants were gearing up for tonight's live final
AN armed man was arrested just metres away from the Celebrity Big Brother studios hours before live final.
Shocking images show the moment the 26-year-old was arrested on Studio Way in Elstree, Hertfordshire after an armed police operation today.
The remaining six Big Brother contestants were just yards away at the Elstree Studios gearing up for tonight’s live final.
Several officers wearing bullet-proof jackets and carrying guns were seen puling over two Mercedes cars before plain clothed cops appeared to search one of the cars.
A firearm was recovered and a man was arrested in the dramatic scenes – although police have insisted that the arrest was not related to the Big Brother final.
A spokesman for Hertfordshire police said that officers were acting on behalf of the Metropolitan police who were leading the investigation.
A Met police spokesman told : “Trident detectives have arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of possession of a firearm following a vehicle stop in Borhamwood, Hertfordshire at approximately 17:00hrs on Friday, 26 August.
“A suspected firearm has also been recovered. Upon arrest, the male was taken to a north London police station for questioning. Enquiries are ongoing.”
There were six finalists remaining in the house tonight – Marnie Simpson, Frankie Grande, Renee Graziano, Stephen Bear, Aubrey O’Day and Ricky Norwood.
SunBets have placed Stephen Bear with the highest odds to win tonight’s final, at 4/6 a £5 bet will offer a £8.33 return.
Despite fans accusing CBB bosses of censoring Bear’s worst behaviour, the reality TV star has won viewers over.
