He suffered fatal injuries to his head and neck in the horror on November 8.

Locals dressed in red lined the streets of Caerphilly and clapped as the youngster's coffin arrived at Martin's Church for the service.

Classmates were among those who joined the procession, which was led by Jack's favourite cars.

A Back to the Future-style DeLorean stopped outside his school before the funeral began.

Jack's coffin was also painted with his most beloved car, a Toyota Supra.

Songs by Wiz Khalifa and Ramz were played inside the church before Reverend Mark Greenway Robbins asked mourners to recall treasured memories of their time with Jack.

TEARS FOR JACK

The order of service featured photos of the schoolboy playing in a park, wearing his school uniform and riding a scooter.

Jack's mum Emma Whitfield, 32, also shared a special tribute to her son.

"My beautiful baby boy, I don't know where to begin," she said.

"I've spent the last 10 years watching you grow, and we started to see you grow into the most amazing man.

"My heart aches so badly."

She asked for any donations to be made to the 2 Wish Upon A Star charity, which supports families who have lost children.

An inquest into Jack's death revealed he was attacked as he walked into a friend's home in Penyrheol.

HORROR ATTACK

Paramedics rushed to the scene, but the lad's injuries were "unsurvivable", it was heard.

It later emerged the dog's owner was trying to get rid of it on October 29 - shortly before the tragedy - amid fears it would attack.

He wrote a plea on a bulldog Facebook page claiming the American pitbull-style animal was "great with people" but "unfortunately does not like other dogs".

It's understood he gave the dog to a family just a few days before Jack died.

Armed cops were forced to shoot the huge animal seven times at the scene.

His family paid tribute to him in the days after his death.

They said: "We are absolutely heartbroken. Our lives will never be the same without Jack.

My beautiful baby boy... my heart aches so badly

“This is not something any parent should ever have to be writing.

“We have so many words we want to say about our beautiful boy, but they do not seem enough.

“We love him more than words can describe. Our boy made us the proudest parents and family on the planet. He was the sweetest of boys.

“We will forever miss his quirky ways and his stories that he would spend so long telling us.

“He's forever in our hearts. Sweet dreams Jack, our perfect boy.”
