Dr Anthony Fauci made headlines in July 2022 after it was announced that he plans to retire by the end of Biden's term in 2025.
On August 22, 2022, reported that Fauci will step down in December 2022.
The initial retirement announcement came one month after he had tested positive for Covid-19.
Since the start of the pandemic, Fauci has stressed the importance of vaccinations and said early on that the lockdowns, school closures, and masking requirements were necessary to fight the virus.
