AN OPERA-LOVING motorist driving a convertible was caught on camera as he leapt out of his car and confronted a cyclist, repeatedly calling him a 'f***ing idiot'.
A video taken by cyclist Dave Williams - which he posted on YouTube yesterday and which has already been viewed nearly 9,000 times - catches the unnamed driver at the wheel of a Peugeot 206 cabriolet.
The video shows Dave cycling along a road in Kingston, South West London, when the Peugeot pulls out in front of him from a parking space, narrowly missing him.
The 48-year-old cyclist, who wears a helmet-cam, pedalled up to the car and knocked on the passenger side door to alert the driver that he only just missed hitting him.
The balding driver, however, slows down and starts pointing accusingly at Dave, saying it was "his fault".
As Dave speeds off in front of the car, however, the driver accelerates past him and swerves in front of him, blocking him in.
The driver, who is listening to blaring opera music, then gets out of his car and confronted Dave, who tells him "You pulled out in front of me - it's all on camera".
The motorist, wearing shades and shorts - with a t-shirt reading "our weather is being engineered. Seek the truth" - tells Dave repeatedly that he's a "f***ing idiot", as he confronts him, and is told to 'get back' by the cyclist.
The driver then gets back in his car, again saying 'You're a f***ing idiot', with Dave telling him: "You pulled out in front of me."
The driver responds by saying he had left plenty of room for the cyclist and that he had 'deliberately' speeded up, telling him: "If you noticed I kept right over to the right hand side.
"You kept f***ing going. You kept f***ing going. You deliberately went in (front of me)."
The driver then gets out of his car again to see if there was any damage to his car from when Dave bashed the side of his car, telling him: "If you do that again - You're a f***ing idiot.
"You speeded up to come alongside me, I f***ing saw you."
Dave, who was holding his D-lock above his head to fend off a potential attack, said he was 'really shocked' by the incident, which took place on June 9.
He said: "I have never had someone threaten me quite like this.
“If someone gets too close I will give them a little tap. I was cycling at about 20mph, the speed limit, but this guy just thought he could not wait."
