I want to thank every member of the Jabs Army for stepping up to do your bit
RIGHT now we are in a race between the virus and the vaccine.
The success of our national vaccination campaign has kept us ahead in the race, and our booster rollout is the fastest in Europe, with almost 25 million top-up jabs already in arms across the UK.
Now we face a new threat with the Omicron variant.
The bad news is that no variant of COVID-19 has spread as fast as Omicron, and we’re expecting a tidal wave of infections.
The good news is that our scientists have told us that a booster dose provides strong protection against Omicron, their analysis shows it is around 70 percent effective at preventing symptomatic infection.
So we all have a part to play to Get Boosted Now.
From Monday, anyone over 18 has been able to walk into a vaccination centre if they’ve had their vaccine three months ago, and from yesterday morning anyone aged over 18 can book their jab on the NHS website.
I am now asking you all to roll up your sleeves and book your life-saving booster jab.

As well as people getting the jab, the Prime Minister has issued a rallying cry for volunteers to step up and work alongside the brilliant NHS to deliver jabs and save lives across the country.
It is phenomenal to see 33,000 heroic volunteers signing up for the Sun’s Jabs Army campaign and I want to thank each and every one of you for stepping up to do your bit.
