REVEALED

How Tesco’s ‘Healthy Living’ coleslaw is twice the price of its ‘Everyday’ brand – but LESS healthy

The healthier version actually has more fat and more calories than the normal brand

TESCO has been slammed by eagle-eyed shoppers after they discovered its 'Healthy Living' coleslaw is twice the price - but MORE unhealthy.

Shopper Dave Ailano spotted two versions of Tesco's own brands of coleslaw - one in the 'Healthy Living' range and one in its cheapest 'Everyday' range.

But despite being twice the price at 20p per 100g, the healthier Tesco version is actually worse for you than the normal type, revealed.

The 'Everyday' actually has fewer calories per ‘heaped tablespoon’, less sugars and exactly the same amount of salt.

The 'Healthy living', which boasts on the label about being 'reduced fat', contains 5.5g or 0.7g of saturates compared to 3.5g of fat and 0.3g saturates on the 'Everyday'.

And the 64 calories per heaped tablespoon on the healthier version's label is higher than the 42 calories on the normal brand.

Dave, who spotted the two tubs at a Tesco in Towers Place, South Shields, tweeted: “Can anyone tell me what this Tesco coleslaw is all about?”

Tesco hasn't responded so far.
