Girlfriend’s heartbreaking tribute to ‘amazing’ dad, 26, killed in Boxing Day attack 6 years after brother died in crash
THE GIRLFRIEND of an “amazing” dad who died in a Boxing Day stabbing six years after his brother was killed in a car crash has paid a heartbreaking tribute.
Dad Coley Byrne, 26, was murdered on Sunday night after a festive celebration at his local pub ended in horror.
His killer remains on the loose.
In a poignant letter placed outside the pub where he was murdered his partner Jess paid tribute, writing: “You and the kids was my life and I will cherish you until it’s my turn and I meet you at those gold gates.”
Beside her note she left flowers and a treasured framed photo of her and Coley together.
His two children penned a heartbreaking message simply saying: “Dad, we love you so much, wish you were here.”
His devastated mum, who lost her younger son in a car crash six years ago, wrote: “Coley, I love you son.”
One tearful pal, who declined to be named, said: “Coley was a good lad, it’s so sad.
“His mum has lost two kids now. His brother died in a car crash several years ago.
“Coley was devastated and never got over losing his kid brother. He had a huge tattoo of his car with alloy wheels inked on his arm in his memory.
“At least he’ll be reunited with his bro now. They were so close and only a year apart in age."
