ELEVEN people were injured when they plummeted to the ground after the cables snapped on a fairground ride.
The incident was dramatically caught on camera by one of the riders who filmed it on their smartphone who jokingly predicted the breakage.
It happened after cables broke on a Free Fall ride at an amusement park in the city of Adana in southern Turkey.
In total, 16 people were on the adrenaline-packed ride in which people are winched slowly into the air and then quickly plummet towards the ground.
The ride is supposed to slow down at the last second but this time, some of the cables broke and it hit the ground at speed.
The 11 victims were said to have escaped with only minor injuries but they were all taken to a local hospital for a check-up.
The incident led to a confrontation between fair-goers and workers at the amusement park who were accused of failing to properly maintain the ride.
The dramatic video quickly went viral after it was uploaded to social media and video-sharing websites.
A number of internet users pointed out that, before the malfunction, the cameraman ironically joked to friends: "The ride will break."
