Jet2 passenger plane LS819 has landed after circling Manchester Airport for 90 minutes ‘due to technical fault with landing gear’
The flight was set to fly to Rhodes in Greece but was held in a holding pattern following take off

A JET2 passenger plane which had been circling Manchester Airport for 90 minutes owing to a reported problem with the landing gear has now landed.
Flight LS819 departed for Rhodes in Greeen at 10.26am and is believed to have been burning off fuel to be light enough to return to the ground.
The plane has been in a holding pattern at 8,000ft and has recently deployed its landing gear.
A spokesman for the airport confirmed there had been a technical difficulty with the aircraft and that the pilot had requested a check of the gears and brakes following landing.
The Boeing 757-200 was due to arrive in Rhodes at 4.35pm today.
Reports now indicate the plane has landed on runway O5R at Manchester Airport.
It would appear that the plane still has its landing gear down which should have retracted immediately after take off.
One passenger has tweeted since touching down.
Paul Sinclair tweeted: “Pleased to say we are now on the runway.
“We weren’t told too much apart from landing gear wouldn’t go up so had to circle until fuel burnt off.”
