Mum-of-two banned from every UK Asda store for being ‘aggressive’ to staff – and she’s got a £142 voucher she can’t use
Natasha Hamlin left furious after argument over a voucher
AN angry mum-of-two was handed a £142 gift voucher by Asda - moments after being banned from all of the supermarket giant's UK stores.
Natasha Hamlin had just returned a smashed glass table to an Asda store in Folkestone, Kent, and was handed a gift card to spend in the store.
When the mum, who is in her 30s, completed her food shopping and pulled out the gift card at the checkout she found that the £142 had not been added to the card, which has a zero balance.
She asked staff why the money hadn't been added to the card and an argument broke out over why she couldn't spend the money that had just been refunded minutes earlier.
Miss Hamlin says she was accused of being 'aggressive' and was promptly frogmarched out of the store by security guards.
She claims that it was simply a 'misunderstanding' and that she was not being aggressive, as Asda bosses claim.
After being ejected from the store, she was told she was banned from all 600+ stores in the UK - meaning she can't spend her £142 voucher, which was handed to her as she was ordered out of the store.
She was even told that she wouldn't be allowed to spend the voucher online as it was in her name.
Speaking about the incident last week, Miss Hamlin said: "They refunded the table and gave me a receipt and what I thought contained a gift card - it should have been loaded with a refund of £142, but wasn't.

Asda chiefs say that Miss Hamlin swore at staff and was 'aggressive'.
Miss Hamlin added: "I would like the ban lifted as I wasn’t in the wrong and I wasn’t being aggressive.
“The manager said it was suggested I was aggressive just because of my body language.”
She added: "They gave me the £142 gift card, but I am still banned from all UK stores and cannot even use it for online shopping."
A spokesman for Asda confirmed that Miss Hamlin was banned from its stores after the incident last week, adding: "We are sorry for Ms Hamlin’s experience during our refund process and are currently looking into what happened.
“We always want to welcome customers into our stores and asking them not to visit us is always a last resort.
“However, we would encourage Ms Hamlin to contact us directly so we can discuss the matter further.”
