Playboy model accused of trying to lure mobster to his death goes on the run after being sentenced to jail for attempted murder
Former Miss Bosnia vanished from her parent's home after trying to have a local mobster killed
A FORMER Playboy model accused of seducing a local mobster as part of a plan to have him killed is on the run.
Former 'Miss Bosnia' Slobodanka Tosic was sentenced to two and a half years in jail for role she played in the attempted murder of local mafia boss Djordje Zdrale in 2006.
But the 30-year-old woman has since disappeared from her parent's house in Han - Pijesak in the Republika Srpska entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina., where she was staying under house arrest.
The model had appealed her jail sentence handed down earlier this year after she was found guilty of betraying mafia boss Djordje Zdrale to his arch nemesis Darko Elez in 2006.
But the plan went wrong when Zdrale managed to escape, fleeing the scene.
The court heard that Tosic, who was on the cover of the Serbian Playboy magazine in 2008, was part of Elez's crime syndicate, which had operations spanning the entire country.
The woman, who won the title of Miss Bosnia when she was 19, was convicted of the attempted murder.
She appealed the ruling in March this year but in July, the appeal court confirmed the sentence.
Zdrale was himself jailed for 20 years for an unrelated murder, but he was brought from his prison cell to testify against Tosic who was charged as an accomplice in the 2006 plot.
Tosic was proven to have belonged to Darko Elez's Bosnian crime syndicate that was dismantled in 2012.
A court official confirmed: "Slobodanka Tosic has not turned up to serve her sentence and a local court has issued an arrest warrant which has also been passed on to Interpol."
The group, described by prosecutors as "one of the largest groups of organised crime" in Bosnia, was smashed in a major police operation in September 2012.
A total of 32 people, including Elez, were charged with a number of gangland murders and raids on cash delivery services.
After the scandal over the attempted murder she had moved to Serbia and ended up on the cover of the Serbian Playboy two years later in 2008 where she was declared "girl of the month", according to the magazine’s then editor-in-chief.
