THIS is the horrifying moment a speeding motorist ploughs into two young sisters killing one instantly as they crossed a road.

The crash happened as the girls and their mum tried to cross at a pedestrian crossing in the village of Mironezhya in the Torzhok district of the Tver Oblast region of Russia.

The shocking dashcam video shows the youngsters starting to cross the road before noticing the speeding Lada and attempting to run back to their mum.

But they sadly don't make it in time and their traumatised mum can only watch in horror as the 24-year-old driver kills her six-year-old daughter.

Her five-year-old sister was left injured following the smash.

Despite its distressing content, police have posted the footage online as a warning to other pedestrians.

The footage was recorded from a vehicle travelling on the right lane of a motorway carriage.

The car slows down before a zebra-crossing where the mother and her children are waiting to cross.

The girls dash on to the crossing but quickly hesitate and start heading back to their mother.

It is too late though as a speeding car appears on the left lane and slams into the two girls sending them skidding several yards along the tarmac.

The older girl died on the spot. Her little sister is in hospital with bruises and fractures.

The police are investigating the case and have not commented on it.

One person wrote online: "The mother should have taken more care with her children and taught them how to safely cross the road. It is so sad."

While another added: "Children’s minds are so vulnerable at that age, it will take years of psychological counselling to repair the damage she suffered."
