Murder suspect BREAKS OUT of handcuffs and escapes police interview room while being quizzed for killing a man who didn’t hold a door for a woman

Cops admit it took them nearly 40 minutes to realise Alonso Perez, 25, was missing

CCTV footage has been released showing a murder suspect escaping from a police station after breaking his handcuffs with his bare hands.

Alonso Perez, 25, was left alone in a Las Vegas interview room – cuffed to a table which was bolted to the floor – when he made his daring escape.

, shows Perez standing up and pulling at the cuff, which is attached to a purpose-built metal bar in the middle of the table.

He can be seen twisting and turning to apply leverage to the shackles before they finally give way and he falls backwards.

Las Vegas Police Chief Alexander Perez, who is not related to the suspect, said: “He torques it to the point, using some of his body weight, that it snaps the hinges.”

He then sits back down putting his cuffed hand next to the bar it was attached to and covering in with his other hand – resting his head on the two of them as a cop off-screen checks on him.

Once he is alone again, he climbs out through a ceiling tile in the corner of the room – right next to the camera.

His legs can be seen dangling down as he clambers up, revealing his leg shackles which he is still wearing.

After dropping down into a hallway somewhere in the station, Perez left through a side door and stole a truck parked outside to complete his getaway.

Police Chief Alexander Perez admitted it took cops nearly 40 minutes to realise he was missing as nobody had been monitoring the live CCTV footage of the room.
