Romantic sparks taxpayer fury as he proposes to his firefighter girlfriend via a 999 hoax call
He plotted with his fiancée's bosses so she would be called out to his proposal
ROMANTIC Mark Edwards sparked taxpayer fury by calling out his firefighter girlfriend on a hoax call to pop the question.
He plotted with Jodie Vincent’s bosses so her crew would respond to reports of a man with a ring stuck on his finger.
When their engine got to Birmingham New Street station, accounts manager Mark, 33, was there to propose.
Jodie, 35, said yes. But after a video of the happy moment was put on Facebook, it started a blazing row.
Matt Mccartney posted: “What a waste. If someone rang them for something non serious we’d get a fine.
“If you pay tax you should ask for an invite to the wedding seems (sic) we all put to(wards) the engagement.”
But Sandy Rudge wrote: “How romantic. All the very best to you both.”
"Our emergency services all do such a fantastic job and it is lovely to see an insight into one of their lives and to see them happy.
