Who is William Hargrove and where is he now?

Who is William Hargrove and where is he now?

Hargrove is a convicted criminal from Oregon.

Hargrove was engaged to a 27-year-old Russian woman named Anna Repkina.

The criminal and victim were involved for over a year prior to Repkina's death.

On April 17, 2017, Repkina was found dead on a remote logging road in Alsea, Oregon.

Hargrove was found to be Repkina's assailant and was charged for her murder, he is serving a life sentence for his crime.

What was the verdict in Hargrove's case?

Following the investigation into Anna Repkina's death in April of 2017, Hargrove was charged with her murder and held without bail in Benton County, Oregon.

Police apprehended Hargrove due to evidence among trash debris left by the perpetrator, which included his dated KFC receipt, in the same wooded area Repkina's body was found.

In June of 2017, news broke that Hargrove's case would go to trial.

In October of 2019, trial proceedings for the Oregon native commenced and the ruling was not in his favor.

On Friday, October 30 of 2020, a 12 person jury found Hargrove guilty of the first-degree murder of his fiancée Anna Repkina.

In addition to the guilty first-degree murder charge, Hargrove was convicted of one count of identity theft and an additional two theft charges for money withdrawn by the perpetrator from banking accounts linked to the victim.

What happened between William Hargrove, Anna Repkina, and Michelle Chavez?

Hargrove and Repkina met through a Russian dating app sometime in 2016.

On March 1 of 2017, Repkina moved to Benton County, Oregon to be closer to her fiancé.

Coinciding with their engagement was Hargrove's relationship with another woman named Michelle Chavez.

At some point, Chavez gave her engaged lover an ultimatum and asked him to choose between either her or his fiancée.

"She was supposed to be gone or whatever. … He was going to leave her," while discussing the case with CBS News.

Chavez continued to give details to CBS News, even alleging she and Hargrove had sex shortly after the murder.

Chavez said: "We drove for a little bit. … We'd pulled off and we were talking for a few. And then honestly, we end up having sex in the front seat."
