Danger driver leading cops on rush hour car chase called emergency number to tell them to stop
Cops ended 50-minute chase by forcing 36-year-old's blue Honda Legend into a hedge
A DANGEROUS driver who led cops on a 50-minute, low-speed chase called 999 to ask officers to STOP following him.
Cops eventually stopped 36-year-old Bruce Dewey by forcing his blue Honda Legend into a hedge.
Officers began trailing Dewey after spotting him behind the wheel, despite only having a provisional licence.
Dewey initially sped off, but after a search cops found him and the chase continued.
He failed to stop for 50-minutes and can be seen swerving around other cars and a large lorry.

When cops eventually stopped the car, in Sompting, Surrey, and jumped out to arrest him steam could be seen rising from his Honda.
During the chase one police car was put out of action and two more damaged.
Dewey has since been jailed for 15 months, by a judge at Chichester Crown Court.
PC Peter De Silvo from the Surrey and Sussex Roads Policing Unit said: "Thankfully, nobody was injured in this incident, which was not conducted at high speed, but Dewey's actions in trying to avoid police through a busy Monday evening rush hour could have had disastrous consequences."
PC Silvo continued: "For nearly 50 minutes he refused to stop for police units, avoided stop sticks deployed to try and burst his tyres and at one point called 999 and asked us to stop following him!"
Dewey has also been disqualified from driving for three years, after which he must take an extended retest, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £100.
