A massive queue formed on Northumberland Street in Newcastle city centre before 8am with fans eager not to miss out on the offers.

Many clutched food and drink from Greggs as they waited for the doors to open.

Bakery branded t-shirts, hats, jogging bottoms and trainers flew off the shelves of the cut price clothing giant, with fears the shop may run out.

Only select stores across the UK are offering the range, which will be available while stocks last.

Teenage warehouse operative Edward Finn had undertaken a 12-hour journey from his home town of Worcester to get his hands on a t-shirt with a vegan sausage roll.

He said he does nightshifts and it's one of the few places that is open when he finishes at about 6am.

"I look forward to getting something hot to eat all through my shift. I love the vegan sausage rolls," he added.

"I will be wearing my new t-shirt to work with pride."

The 33-year-old said: "This collaboration is fantastic for the North East.

"I think it's a really interesting idea and I wanted to be here early because I was worried about missing out.
