Man United ace Phil Neville’s wife slams school bullies who left her disabled daughter in tears
Julie pens emotional Instagram post after Isabella returns home from school feeling 'ashamed'
MAN United ace Phil Neville’s wife has slammed school bullies who left her disabled daughter in tears.
Businesswoman Julie blasted a boy in 11-year-old Isabella’s PE class for comments that left her feeling “embarrassed and ashamed”.
When Isabella was a baby doctors told the couple she may never walk after diagnosing her with cerebral palsy aged 18 months.
But Isabella, now 11, defied the odds and went on to walk with aid of leg splints.
In an angry post on Instagram Julie said she was heartbroken when her daughter came home from Caxton College, a British school in Valencia, sobbing.
She wrote: “Felt heartbroken today when our beautiful daughter came out of school sobbing feeling 'embarrassed and ashamed' of her disability when a boy in her PE class (which was relay swimming) openly shouted on several occasions that his team were disadvantaged and that they didn’t want “her” on their team!”
The proud mum went on to say her daughter had always been willing to jump in the pool and compete with able-bodied children, “which takes guts and determination”.
The mum-of-two added: “The only one who should feel ashamed is the boy who complained as he obviously likes (sic) the tact, manners and respect that we have instilled into our children. As for me, the word that springs to mind is proud, every single day!”
