Drivers hit out at council car park which gives motorists 130 different prices
DRIVERS have hit out at a council car park with 130 different fees.
They range from 38p for 15 minutes to £38.75 for more than six hours, depending on which emissions band the motor is in and whether or not it meets European standards.
Broadcaster Danny Baker, 64, tweeted a picture of a sign of the baffling tariffs at Blackheath, South London.
He said: “Went to the same car park I’ve used for 25 years.
“Excited to see the council’s new streamlined pay system that in no way suggests they have too much time on their hands.”
Graham Cope wrote: “Clear as mud.”
Tim Hopkins added: “I bet the area is full of Band 1, Euro 6 compliant vehicles. Whatever they are. Probably skateboards.”
Electric vehicles such as a Toyota Yaris Hybrid are in Band 1, while a Range Rover Sport 5.0 is in Band 13.
