Police question suspect after young man was blasted to death on his doorstep

The man was left bleeding to death after being shot in the chest at his Milton Keynes home

MURDER cops investigating the shooting of a man in a doorstep ambush were yesterday questioning a suspect.

An unnamed young man was fatally shot when gunmen knocked on his front door, bursting their way into his home before killing him with a single shot to the chest.

The young men was left bleeding to death after being shot, with police believing the gunmen left the terraced home on foot just after 5am on Tuesday.

It is understood another person at the home rang police as his friend lay dying in their home.

Detectives descended on the home in Eagleston, Milton Keynes, launching a full-scale investigation.

A police spokesman said: "We believe that a handgun was used in this murder and that the victim, who was a young man, thought to be living at the property died following a single bullet wound to the chest."

Police have also appealed for anyone that might have CCTV footage of the scene to hand it to investigating officers, in the hope that the footage could hold clues to identify the gunmen.

Forensic officers arrived at the scene, along with at least four police cars and two police vans on Tuesday.

A number of properties were also cordoned off while specialist officers combed the home.

A police have since said that it was not believed that the gunmen had their car close to the scene, but instead had potentially parked their getaway car on an adjoining road.

It has since emerged that a neighbour called police to the murder scene more than five hours before the shooting after hearing a loud argument.
