Breakthrough for The Sun’s campaign to bring back our famous blue British passports as Home Office MPs review colour
Robert Goodwill says that the Home Office is considering a change to passport in the light of Brexit
A HOME Office minister says the famous blue British passport could return in a breakthrough for The Sun’s campaign.
Robert Goodwill told MPs the issue was being looked at again after June’s Brexit vote.
It comes just weeks after we launched our bid to bring back the iconic travel document.
Mr Goodwill confirmed: “We are considering potential changes to the UK passport after the UK has left the European Union.
“At this early stage we have not undertaken a detailed cost benefit analysis or made any decisions about what a future UK passport might look like.”
We launched our campaign after Mr Goodwill earlier insisted there were “no immediate plans” to change the colour of UK passports.
Yesterday Mr Knight, MP for Solihull, said: “It’s really encouraging. A blue passport is a symbol of our independence.
