The truck was reportedly parked near 23rd Avenue. It is unclear where the truck was headed.

Along with the box, the thief also took a dolly cart, FOX31 reports.

No arrests have been made.

The box was blue and white cardboard measuring approximately 20 x 15 x 18 inches with “Science Care” written on the sides, according to KDVR/KWGN.

CBS Denver reports the box also had a label reading “exempt human specimen.”

Science Care is a program dedicated to improving scientific research. Bodies are donated as part of the research as well as for educational purposes.

"Founded in 2000, Science Care is the leading body donation authority in the world, and we set the industry standard that families have come to trust," their website reads.

Science Care has a number of clients, including pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, educational institutions, and healthcare organizations, among others.

"We only work with qualified researchers and educators who have passed our stringent qualification process," their website states.

Body donations to science are not accepted in every state.

Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Texas are the only states on the Science Care website where more information is available.

Few details about the stolen box are available as the investigation continues.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at (720) 913-STOP (7867).
