Brit ex-soldiers heading to frontline in eastern Ukraine to fight Russian invaders
BRITISH ex-soldiers on a train heading to the front line in eastern Ukraine to help local troops repel Russian invaders declared: “Long live Ukraine!”
One volunteer, who gave his name as “Jax”, said in Lviv: “We are here to help stop the invasion.
"Most of us are ex-military so we are all very well-trained.
“He (Putin) is bombing civilian targets, executing civilians, raping females, it needs to be stopped.”
One sniper, who served in the Army for a decade, told The Sun as he crossed the border from Poland: “We’re facing a modern-day Adolf Hitler who’s on the rampage.
"I couldn’t sit back and watch this unfold.”
One veteran waiting at a Polish hotel for a lift said: “There are loads of Brits coming.
"Some don’t even have military experience but realise the future of Europe is at stake.”
