British Airways flight BA473 from Barcelona to London Heathrow declares emergency over France after “technical issue”
A British Airways passenger flight from Barcelona to London Heathrow declared an emergency and landed in France and after experiencing a "technical issue".
Twitter account Flight Alerts reported a plane with flight number BA473 was "holding at 8,000ft" near the city of Toulouse.
The account then most posted updates that the plane was diverting and descending rapidly.
British Airways have said they declared an emergency because of a "technical issue" but have not revealed what the problem was.

A British Airways spokesperson told the Sun Online: "The aircraft landed safely after our highly-trained pilots took the decision to divert to Toulouse as a precaution after a technical issue.
"The safety of our customers is always our top priority and we are sorry for the resulting delay to their travel plans."
The flight was due to depart from Barcelona at 10.10am but was delayed by 51 minutes.
Before the diversion the plane was due to arrive at London Heathrow at 11.35am.
