‘Naked man’ arrested on suspicion of murder after female lawyer is found dead
Alison Jane Farr-Davies, 42, was found at a house near Swansea City's Liberty Stadium after cops were called to reports of a man in his pants trying to flag down passing cars
COPS are quizzing a man who was found running semi-naked in the street over the murder of a female lawyer.
Alison Jane Farr-Davies, 42, was found dead at a house in Swansea during a birthday visit to her family.
Alison was today due to celebrate her birthday which she shared with her mother Linda, 73.
But the solicitor – who came from a family of lawyers – was killed before she made it back to the family home in Carmarthen, South Wales.
Her body was found at the house in Hafod, Swansea, on Tuesday – near the Liberty Stadium, home of Swansea City football club.
But cops believe she may have been attacked on Sunday afternoon as the 20,000 Swansea fans arrived for their Premier League clash with Chelsea.
Det Supt Pritchard said: "I am keen to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious involving a man and a woman on Sunday afternoon.
"There was a football car park in this area so there would have been a lot of people around at the time.
"These people may have information that could be of assistance to us regarding Alison's death.
"Detectives are appealing to anyone who was in this area on Sunday afternoon at the time of the Swansea City v Chelsea Premier League match at the Liberty Stadium."
A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody at Swansea Central Police Station.
Det Supt Pritchard said: "Officers responded to several calls from the public who reported seeing a man in the road."
Drivers passing the house spoke of a "pale and shaken" looking man – topless or in his underwear – running into the street and trying to flag down cars.
Driver Emily Jewell said: "I was sitting in my car and suddenly he started banging my window, he looked in a really bad way.
"I couldn't make out what he was saying – I was in such a shock I just drove off.
"It was really frightening.
"I looked in my mirror and could see he only had what looked like a pair of pants on, and was doing the same to the other cars which also didn't stop."
A forensic team has cordoned off the area as the investigation continues.
Alison's family in Carmarthen is being supported by a specially-trained family liaison officer.
Paying tribute to the solicitor, who worked for legal firms across England and Wales, they said: "We are totally devastated at the loss of our beautiful daughter, sister, aunt and niece.
"Ali was a very gentle, caring and loving person who doted on her two young nieces.
"She used to love them visiting her and spending time on the beach together.
"Ali was always helping others and would go out of her way to help people who were less fortunate than her.
"She loved animals and took in her beloved dog Max from an animal rescue centre as she couldn't bear to see him alone."
