British Airways is offering free upgrades to first class for Club World passengers

EVERYONE who's ever checked in for a flight has secretly hoped today's the day they finally get that free upgrade.

Well now, British Airways customers could be able to have their dreams come true - as the airline is offering free upgrades for its customers when they buy selected return tickets over the Christmas period.

The offer is valid on tickets booked between September 7 and December 11 - and you can only , not online.

You'll still have to fork out a bit of extra cash, as the offer is only available for Club World customers - British Airways' version of business class.

But if you decide to make the investment, you'll be treated to a 6ft bed, blinds, luxury nightwear, bottomless champagne - and a gourmet menu, complete with silver cutlery.

There's also a security fast track, a special departure lounge and a snack bar - which you can help yourself to throughout the flight.

In a statement by the airline, Sara Dunham, British Airways’ head of marketing, said: "We always get a great reaction from customers to our upgrade to First promotions.

"For no additional cost, travellers receive all the extra benefits of First, from the bespoke lounges to the comfortable suites on-board and personalised service

"It’s a really nice way for us to recognise our customers and give them something back as a thank-you for their booking and their loyalty."
