Olympic cyclist Lizzie Armitstead late to the church for her wedding – because she was stuck behind a BICYCLE
Team Sky racer Philip Deignan left waiting for 10 minutes as wedding coach gets stuck behind bike
OLYMPIC cyclist Lizzie Armitstead was late for her wedding today... after getting stuck behind a bike rider.
The World and Commonwealth Road Race champion's groom was left watching the clock for 10 minutes as the vintage bridal coach crawled behind a cyclist.
Armitstead looked radiant as she arrived to marry Team Sky racer Philip Deignan in a lavish ceremony in her home town of Otley, West Yorkshire.
Crowds of well wishers had gathered outside a Victorian church for the wedding.
One well wisher said: "It's ironic Lizzie was late for her own wedding because of a slow cyclist holding up her coach."
