Harmony Montgomery mystery deepens as girlfriend of girl’s dad is found dead & relatives ‘don’t know what she knew’
POTENTIAL leads in the mysterious case of a missing seven-year-old girl were lost with the sudden passing of the girl's father's girlfriend.
Kelsey Small was found dead on March 13 in Manchester, New Hampshire, the same city where Harmony Montgomery was last seen more than two years ago.
Her death isn't considered suspicious, according to Manchester police, but they didn't release any other information because it's part of an ongoing investigation.
She dated Harmony's father Adam Montgomery for over a year but told police she never knew about Harmony, according to court documents.
"We don't know what she knew, if she knew anything or the details about what happened to her," said Blair Miller, Harmony's brother's adopted father told The Sun.
"When my husband and I heard about it, it stopped us dead in our tracks. It's a tragic loss. How many people's lives are going to be ruined in this case?"

Miller and his husband have been active trying to reunite their five-year-old son Jamison with his biological sister since Harmony was reported missing in late December.
Jamison and Harmony were inseparable while they were in the foster care system.
"We've been so focused on finding Harmony," Miller said. "We look at this whole case through Jamison's eyes, and we want to do everything we can to reunite them."
Small was never arrested or named in Harmony's missing person case.

She was dragged into the saga when police arrested Montgomery. The two were sleeping in a parked car in Manchester.
Small's family issued a statement to Facebook group saying, "She was so much more than (Montgomery's boyfriend), and I hate that one of her last connections on earth was to him."
MONTGOMERY ARRESTED
Montgomery was taken into custody on January 4 and charged with felony second-degree assault, interfering with custody, and child endangerment stemming from his alleged 2019 conduct against Harmony.
Harmony’s stepmother, Kayla, was charged with welfare fraud on suspicion of obtaining $1,500 in food stamps from December 2019 to June 2021 for the child when the girl was not living with her and Adam.
They have both pleaded not guilty and are in jail.
Since their arrest, prosecutors have released new details in the case of Harmony.
According to New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella, investigators believe disappeared sometime between November 28 and December 10, 2019. However, she wasn't reported missing until late 2021.
Adam's brother, Michael, told police the 31-year-old was physically abusive to Harmony and gave her a black eye.
A detective then spoke to Adam’s uncle Kevin and asked him about Harmony’s eye injury.
According to court documents, Kevin said that Adam told him in July 2019 that he [Adam] “bashed her [Harmony] around the house.”
Adam was allegedly angry at Harmony, who was five years old at the time because she was supposed to be watching her infant brother, but he started crying, which enraged the father.
The uncle also said Adam spanked his daughter, forced her to stand in the corner for hours, and ordered her to scrub a toilet with her toothbrush.

Manchester police and the Miller family are remaining "optimistic."
Miller said they've received tips that may be seem "off the wall," but he's passed everything along to police.
"It's hard to know if any of the tips lead to anything," Miller said. "Sometimes we tell police what we're hearing and say, 'It might be crazy but' and the police say, 'Nothing is too crazy.'"
