'economically irresponsible'
HS2 rail link bosses have already spent £2BILLION… without laying a single inch of track
Much of the money has been spent on surveys, with one farm being visited 46 times by officials this year
BOSSES at the HS2 rail link have splashed more than £2billion without laying an inch of track.
Critics of the £55billion line to link London with Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester say £35million a month is spent buying property in the East Midlands and Yorkshire.
Yet that phase is not due to open until 2033.
More cash goes on surveys. One farmer had 46 visits from officials this year to see bats and trees.
