NOT A GOOD SIGN

Paramedic spotted with unfortunate ‘DOA’ registration plate – hospital jargon for Dead On Arrival

The awkward ambulance was snapped in North London

IN an emergency, the sight of an ambulance speeding around the corner is usually a relief.

But this is one emergency vehicle poorly patients might not be so pleased to see.

Snapped by a keen-eyed passerby, the ambulance in question was spotted parked on a road in North London.

And although it might seem unremarkable at first, it has the unfortunate registration CX07 DOA.

DOA is an acronym commonly used in the medical profession - with a less-than-encouraging meaning.

Unfortunately, it means 'dead on arrival' - and is used to refer to patients who have died on the journey to hospital.

So, the driver of this 2007-reg Ford Focus - whose registration traces it to Bangor, North Wales - could be one paramedic patients aren't so happy to see.
