I’m living in a vermin-infested hellhole & I’m worried my baby has been eating POO – but our landlord won’t let us leave
A HORRIFIED mum is desperate to find a new home and lives in fear that her two toddlers will EAT mouse droppings which cover her property.
Samantha Stratton, 36, says both of her daughters have been constantly unwell, with one vomiting, since moving into the damp property in Formby, Merseyside.
The family has been forced to move three times since arriving in the UK last year from Canada, but her latest home has been a “complete nightmare.”
Sam, her partner James, 35, and two daughters, four and 18 months, have been forced to lay rat traps around the house after finding droppings everywhere.
The couple have so far found three rodents trapped in the devices, but claim that the landlord and letting agency Abode are refusing to help them.
Speaking to The Sun, Sam said: “The whole thing has been a complete nightmare, I am at my wits' end. It is disgusting.

“I have tried everyone for help, but nothing is happening. I am constantly taking my daughters to the doctors because they are always sick.
“My youngest daughter is at the age where she is putting anything in her mouth.
"We found piles of mice droppings and I’m terrified that she will eat something when I’m not there.
“It’s awful and is stressing me out so much.

"I just want to be able to move somewhere else but the landlord won’t give us the deposit back.
“The windows are mouldy in my daughters room, and are rotting, making it freezing. She is alway sick and we have to take her into our room.
“She has been constantly vomiting recently, and I’m terrified that this is because of the house. They were never this sick before.
"I'm terrified that I should throw all their toys away because of the mice, there are urine stains on the carpet.
“The house is disgusting and falling apart, I just don’t know what to do.”
Sam claims that she has asked to leave the property four months early, after signing a six month contract.

But the landlord has reportedly refused to return the family’s deposit over the issues, and is no longer responding to their correspondence.
The mum-of-two added: “Both the letting agency and the landlord have been incredibly rude, and all of the correspondence will end with the agency.
“The landlord has refused to replace the mouldy windows, which is causing leaks, and also won’t try to sort the mice issue.
“We signed a contract but the house should be liveable, and nothing can be changed without the landlord's approval.
