Victim captures his OWN mugging as he begs for mercy with violent thief while live-streaming Pokemon Go
Six-year-old tragically lost his battle with cancer in June but won the hearts of the nation with his story
A MAN filming himself playing Pokémon Go near New York's Central Park wound up filming his own mugging.
Video of the incident, captured on the victim’s livestream and first posted by Gothamist, shows the 43-year-old man walking on Central Park South near Sixth Avenue — and teasing himself as "a lazy Pokémon player” — at around 12:20 a.m. Monday when the mugger comes up from behind and attacks.
The thug strikes the man hard in the back of the head, sending him tumbling to the ground, before grabbing the victim’s three cellphones as the player pleads, “No, no, no, no, please.”
The victim suffered a small cut on his head and a swollen right cheek. He refused medical attention.
Cops say the suspect is about 6 feet tall and was last seen wearing a black shirt and red shorts.
It is not the first time the wildly popular game has been involved in street crime.
In July cops claimed Pokemon Go was used to lure innocent victims into a trap so they could be robbed of their possessions.
Police in Missouri arrested a group of four men suspected of “multiple armed robberies” in the counties of St. Louis and St. Charles.
Victims were allegedly lured by a “beacon” which is set in a real world location to attract monsters in the game.
Up to 11 people have been targeted in the area, although it is unclear whether they are children or adults.
Brett Miller, 17, Jamine Warner, 18, Shane Backer, 18, and a juvenile, 16, were charged with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action.
