Jim Carrey slams ex-girlfriend’s ‘heartless’ husband for suing the Hollywood star over her suicide
ACTOR Jim Carrey says accusations he illegally obtained prescription drugs for his late girlfriend are a "heartless attempt" to exploit her death for money.
The claims were made in court documents filed by Cathriona White's estranged husband Mark Burton on the grounds of wrongful death and violation of the drug dealer liability act.
It claims the actor gave her the drugs "despite the fact that he knew full well that Ms. White was ill equipped to ingest and manage highly addictive prescription drugs outside the care of a licensed physician; was prone to depression; and had previously attempted to take her own life."
Via his lawyer Marty Singer, Carrey told : "There are moments in life when you have to stand up and defend your honour against the evil in this world.
"I will not tolerate this heartless attempt to exploit me or the woman I loved.
