Jim Carrey slams ex-girlfriend’s ‘heartless’ husband for suing the Hollywood star over her suicide

ACTOR Jim Carrey says accusations he illegally obtained prescription drugs for his late girlfriend are a "heartless attempt" to exploit her death for money.

The claims were made in court documents filed by Cathriona White's estranged husband Mark Burton on the grounds of wrongful death and violation of the drug dealer liability act.

It is alleged that Jim, under the aslias Arthur King, illegally obtained and then distributed Ambien, Popranolol and Percocet to Cathriona.

The pills were discovered in Cathriona’s apartment along with her lifeless body.

Michael Avenatti, the attorney for Mark, who was separated from Cathriona at the time of her death, told the American site: "We will be calling on the Los Angeles DA to open an investigation into Mr Carrey's role in the death of Ms. White.

"We look forward to the evidence and facts supporting the allegations in the case coming to light."
