Tragic tributes to law student, 23, who died after eating ‘cannabis sweet’ she bought via an app
A LAW student who died after eating just one suspected synthetic cannabis sweet has been pictured.
Damilola Olakanmi, 23 was described as a promising young woman who was looking forward to her future.
She and a friend, 21, both immediately fell ill after each eating a single gummy, branded "Trrlli Peachie O's", in Ilford, East London, on Tuesday.
It is thought she bought the Class B sweets thinking they were cannabis gummies via a messaging app and they were delivered to her home.
Justice campaigner and family friend Richard Taylor, 75, told The Sun he had been supporting mum Wumi, 51, who was at her daughter's bedside until she died on Saturday.
He said: "She's lost her only child and her life has been ruined forever. It's incredibly sad.

"Damilola was at her mum's house in Ilford when her and her friend took the sweets.
"This should be a warning to anyone involved in drugs.
"Drugs are all over the place and young children are able to buy them in schools. It's just like laughing gas, you see it all over the streets.
"It's a real danger to young people. Damilola was a smart young girl who was studying law.

"Her mum Wumi is completely distraught and she can't stay in the house where it happened. Her life is upside down. They are a devout Christian family. That's how they were raised."
Another relative Dunni called Damilola a sweet, quiet girl who her mother looked up to.
She told the : "She was very kind and loved looking after children and wanted to please everyone. The family will never come to terms with this.
"We need to know what happened. Her mother is not young anymore."
She added that they will remember Damilola as the girl who would always ask everyone if they were OK and if they needed anything.
Leon Brown, 37, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to supply Class B synthetic cannabinoid, being concerned in the supply of a synthetic cannabinoid, and possession with intent to supply a psychoactive substance.
Officers and ambulances were called last Tuesday and both women were taken to hospital.
The victim's friend, believed to be a US student who was visiting Britain, was discharged from hospital following treatment.
Officers are awaiting a post-mortem and the results of tests on the gummies.
Police suspect a case in which a woman was taken unwell last month after eating cannabis sweets in Tower Hamlets, East London, is potentially linked.
She was taken to hospital and later discharged. Officers are probing whether the sweets were from the same batch.
Chief Superintendent Stuart Bell warned the public against taking any illegal substances, including those packaged as cannabis sweets.
He added: “Please do not buy or consume these products.
"They are illegal and, because of the child-friendly packaging, they can pose a risk of accidental consumption.
"The particular batch of sweets were contained in packaging featuring ‘Trrlli Peachie O’s’ branding.

"It has not been confirmed at this stage where the sweets were manufactured.
