Latest travel restrictions in Greece including Covid tests and face mask rules

HOLIDAYS are back on the cards for sun-hungry Brits this summer - but there still being Covid rules in some vacation hotspots.

Despite the fact that the UK’s travel rules have ended - anyone jetting off to Greece will have to follow their rules.

Here we go through all of the measures still in place in Greece - from masks to vaccine requirements.

Current travel rules

Brits arriving in Greece who are not fully vaccinated, and age aged five or above must have a negative antigen test taken 24 hours before the flight - or a PCR test taken 72-hours prior.

A certificate of recovery from Covid is also accepted.

However if you're fully vaccinated, you can visit Greece without needing a pre-travel Covid test.

And no travellers now need to fill out a passenger locator form. 

Mask rules

According to the UK Foreign Office: "It is mandatory to wear a mask in all indoor public spaces, in all areas of Greece. 

“In certain areas, such as in supermarkets and pharmacies, and on public transport, you will be required to wear either double masks (at least one of which should be surgical), or an N95/FFP2 mask."

Covid passes

In Greece everyone must produce a proof of vaccination to enter indoor venues like shops, restaurants and museums.

And the UK Foreign Offices says if you're not fully vaccinated or if you're partially vaccinated, you won't be able to enter nightclubs, restaurants indoors, theatres, cinemas, museums, exhibitions, conferences, gyms and stadiums.

If you’re not vaccinated you can still visit shops and restaurants outdoors if you have proof of a negative Covid test taken within 48 hours before entry.
