HERO Brit fighter Aiden Aslin has been cruelly paraded on Russian TV after he was captured by Putin's merciless men.

The 28-year-old's devastated family have revealed their horror after he was pictured for the first time handcuffed, battered and bruised.

The former care worker, from Newark, Nottinghamshire, has now been humiliated by state media for repelling Russian forces.

He laid down his arms with Ukraine’s 36th Marines - who he has fought for since 2018 - after running out of food and ammo.

His mum has begged the British Government to "get him out" after seeing the sickening photos of her son.

Russia have accused him of shelling children and said he "will face justice" in Putin’s puppet republic of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine.

In a harrowing short clip released last night, Aiden was ordered to speak in Russian and asked: "Answer me, have you killed people?"

He protests that he can't speak Russian fluently and a woman's voice repeats the question in English.

Aiden, who looks dazed, replies: "I don't know. I didn't do any fighting."

The interrogator asks again: "Have you seen that people were killed?"

Aiden replies: "No."

The Brit was shown in an olive-green hoody with his sleeves pulled up to reveal his tattoos, including one which read, “Happy Days”.

It isn't known where he is being held, but his battalion was forced to surrender earlier this week to Russian forces in the besieged city of Mariupol.

One of his eyes was swollen half-closed and he had a gash across his forehead, which was red and bruised.

Aiden's horrified mum Angela told The Sun: "I want the Government to help get him out.

"At least while they are posting photos of him I know he is alive, but it is very cold comfort.

"If they are going to use him for propaganda then I hope they do it quickly then let him go.

"They are b*****ds for the way they have treated him."

A crowing Russian stooge said Putin's cronies in Donetsk would treat him as a foreign mercenary, “which means no PoW status for him".

A pro-Russian Twitter account then boasted that an interview with Aiden would be released soon.

At least while they are posting photos of him I know he is alive, but it is very cold comfort.

Mum Angela

A plug for the upcoming broadcast branded him "an English mercenary who fought on the side of the Nazis in Mariupol".

It continued: "Many lost him, but we found him. An interesting interview is coming soon."

Aiden had earlier warned that he would be used for "bulls*** propaganda" if captured by Putin's troops.

Under the Geneva Convention it is illegal to expose PoWs to public curiosity - but a TV sit down with Aiden has been promoted by Andrey Rudenko, who works closely with the Russian state TV.

State TV outlet Rossiya 1 said he was "suspected of fighting for terrorists".

Rossiya said: "In London, after the odious Briton Aiden Aslin surrendered, they suddenly remembered the Geneva Convention and asked for him to be treated gently.”

Under the Geneva Convention fighters can be classed as mercenaries if they are motivated by “private gain”.

And they must be paid "substantially in excess" of local soldiers – which Aiden was not.

Legal experts said the convention is crystal clear that Aiden should be treated as a combatant with all the protections of a PoW.

Aiden’s MP, Robert Jenrick, said: "I am very concerned for the safety of my constituent. Using images of prisoners of war for propaganda is wrong and in contravention of the Geneva Convention."

Mum Angela added: "I have spoken to the Home Office and they say they will help as much as they can. It is delicate.

"He did not expect this war.  He got involved because it was his job but unfortunately Putin has obliterated every part of Ukraine.

"He doesn’t seem to care and it doesn’t seem like he’s going to stop."

But vile Russian TV accused him of feeling entitled "to kill other Ukrainian citizens".

And NTV - owned by Gazprom Media – scoffed at calls in Britain for him to be treated humanely.

NTV accused Britain of "suddenly changing its tone after six weeks of enjoying, gloating, embellishing, and exaggerating reports of our army's soldiers being wounded and killed".

FAMILY FEARS

The Brit's family have now been left fearing the worst after the taunting footage and images were released.

Aiden's distraught grandmother Pam Hull told The Sun: "I have only just seen the picture of Aiden in Russian captivity and I am just shocked by it and very upset.

"It is completely untrue to call him a mercenary. Ukraine is his adopted country.

"He has been in their military for four years now and his service was due to end this year.

"He has made his home over there after falling in love with a Ukranian woman and they are due to get married.

"He has learnt Russian and has done the job that he is most qualified to do so he is not someone who has gone over there for personal glory or financial reward.

'BRAVE' AIDEN

"Russia should treat him as a protected prisoner of war because that is what he is."

Aiden volunteered to join the Kurdish YPG after being disgusted by Islamic State's slaughter of Yazidis and Kurds in Syria and Iraq.

He moved to Ukraine in 2018 and was due to get married this month.

Pam added: "It is very hard for his Mum and all his family to see pictures like this and to hear the lies being said about him.

"He is a very brave lad with a good heart and we are all very proud of him."

Aiden had earlier told how Russian forces "hit us with everything" in the first week of the war.

His marine unit was forced to fall back after they were blitzed by Russian artillery, missiles and Grad rockets.

He said while most of his fellow marines had survived the initial onslaught, several were taken prisoner.

Russia claimed it had captured more than 1,000 members of Aslin's brigade on Wednesday.
