Mass shooting at Pittsburgh AirBnB rental leaves two teens dead and nine injured at underage party for 200 people
TWO teenagers have been killed and at least nine more people are injured after a mass shooting at a party in an AirBnB rental in Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh police said that more than 50 rounds were fired at around 12.30am Sunday during a party at a short-term rental property in the East Allegheny section of the city's North Side.
There were more than 200 people inside the property on Suismon Street and Madison Avenue, many of them underage, authorities said.
Police said multiple people were taken to the hospital, including at least 11 people with gunshot wounds.
Two male gunshot victims died at the hospital, police said.
Officials later confirmed that the victims were under 18, but did not specify their ages. They have not yet been publicly identified.

Others were injured attempting to flee, including by jumping out of the building’s windows and suffer broken bones and lacerations, authorities said.
No arrests have yet been made over the attack, and Police Chief Scott Schubert said they cannot currently reveal any leads on suspects.
A spokesman for the Allegheny Health Network confirmed Sunday that seven victims had been taken to Allegheny General Hospital with gunshot wounds and other injuries.
Two other victims were taken to a University of Pittsburgh Medical Center facility, a UPMC representative said.
Police said as many as 50 rounds were fired inside and several more were fired outside.
Shell casings from rifles and pistols were found at the scene, reported.
“The initial investigation reveals a large party was being held at the short-term rental property,” the city’s in a statement.
“As many as 50 rounds were fired inside, prompting some party-goers to jump out the windows, sustaining injuries such as broken bones and lacerations. Several more shots were fired outside the home.”
Police are processing evidence at as many as eight separate crime scenes spanning a few blocks around where the shooting occurred.
There is no information on any suspects at this time and, so far, no arrests have been made.
Neighbor, Mitchell Wilston, 30, told the that before the shooting started, a line of people had been waiting to go inside the house.
“It was like a club,” he said, noting that police were near the scene before the shooting.
“It was so clearly underage kids,” Wilston told the newspaper. “These kids looked like they were 14.”
Cmdr. John Fisher called guns and underage drinking a fatal mixture.

“That’s a deadly combination in any type of event, and the result is it’s a tragedy,” Fisher said. “There was unnecessary death there and gunshot victims that could have all been prevented.”
The investigation is ongoing in the North Side neighborhood known as Deutschtown by locals.
