Staff helped with emergency procedures while the pilot turned the flight around at 2.30pm.

After emergency landing at Shanti Nagar, the family were rushed off the plane with their baby.

Despite the quick turn around and meeting medics on the ground, the child could not be saved.

The baby was tragically declared dead on arrival at city airport.

It is thought the youngster was travelling to Bengaluru for treatment on the devastating heart condition.

An official said: "The child was rushed to the private hospital in Shanti Nagar, but was declared dead."

The plane waited for a response from the family and took off again when told the child had died.

It is not known how many people were on board the flight.
