The area was evacuated and windows were seen shattered on the busy shopping street.

Terrifying footage from the attack shows smashed concrete and clouds of dust in the aftermath.

The rocket was fired from ISIS-held territory and is the first attack since Ankara-backed rebels cleared the area of jihadis earlier this month.

Local governor Ismail Catakli said all of those wounded were from Syrian nations.

He added: "I want to appeal to the whole world.

"Please do not remain silent in this situation.

"Our army is doing the necessary work but we need international institutions to support us.

"The entire world mourned for the terrorist attacks in France, but remains silent when people are killed in terrorist attacks in Turkey."

A large number of Syrian refugees live in Kilis after fleeing the civil war at home.

Dozens were killed in the town earlier this year as it came under regular attack from ISIS rockets.
