Stone County, Arkansas, deaths: Mystery as 4 people found dead in homes a mile apart & cops issue warning to lock doors
FOUR people have been found dead in homes located around a mile apart from each other, police said.
State Police and Stone County Sheriff's Office warned residents in the Ben area to lock their windows and doors late on Thursday night.
77-year-old Shirley Watters and her son, 55-year-old James Watters, were found dead by a family member on Thursday afternoon around 2pm, according to Arkansas State Police.
William Clinton Trammell, 75, and his wife, 72-year-old Sharon Trammell were found dead inside their home from apparent gunshot wounds just eight hours later, an ABC affiliate .
Sheriff Lance Bonds revealed that a person of interest is being quizzed by cops.
They are not being considered a suspect at this point during the probe.

Cops have confirmed there is not an active shooter but warned there is a police presence in the area.
Local outlets have shared the public safety alert on social media, as have residents that live in the area.
It stated: "The Stone County Sheriff's Department and Arkansas State Police are working on two separate death investigations in the Ben area of Stone County.
"Sheriff Lance Bonds is urging people to stay inside their homes and lock their doors. Deputies are patrolling the area.
