'RIP CHEWY'

Boxer Derek Chisora accuses his neighbour’s alsatians of mauling his pet pomeranian to death outside his lavish property

Heavyweight champ blames property baron Laurence Kirschel for the death of his fiancee's pooch Chewy

HEAVYWEIGHT boxer Derek Chisora today claimed his pet pomeranian called Chewy was savaged to death by a multi-millionaire's alsatian guard dogs.

The former European, Commonwealth and British champion, 32, tweeted: "My dog was killed by two big dogs #RIP Chewy."

Chewy is said to have died in the garden of property baron Laurence Kirschel, who lives next door to Chisora's fiancee Emily Eringer in Hampstead, North London.

Emily claims her pet was mauled by the two alsatians, but Mr Kirschel denies the allegations saying CCTV footage shows the dogs playing.

He claimed he found Chewy with a small cut the dog may have received when it was caught in a bramble bush.

Mr Kirschel, who has a £325m London property empire, also denied the alsatians were guard dogs, saying they are family pets.

But Emily said: "We were told his dogs were guard dogs and had a handler.

"Why is he now telling the police they are domesticated pets after he kept them in a cage at the bottom of our garden for weeks?

"We were told we didn't have to worry about the dogs because they were trained dogs and with a handler at all times."

Neighbours said the animals can be heard "barking throughout the night" and they are often being taken for walks on short leases by burly "henchmen."

One neighbour, who did not wish to be named, said he even avoids walking his own dog near the multi-millionaire's home.

The man said: "I don't just think they look dangerous, I know they are dangerous.

"Big henchmen take them for walks on short leashes in the morning and they jump up on their hind legs.

"The fences are really high there.

"I always avoid taking my dog near there because I wouldn't want him to get attacked. We walk on the other side of the pavement.

"You can sometimes hear the dogs barking throughout the night."

Another neighbour said: " I know Mr Kirschel, but I've never seen the dogs myself.

"I would have thought they were guard dogs. I know he has two alsatians.

";I think he has had them for about a year now.

"I imagine those dogs are trained to just go for any intruders.

"Maybe they are family dogs, I would just assume they were guard dogs. "
