A ROYAL HOLIDAY

The Duke and Duchess are making the most of their trip around Canada, staying at a THREE star inn complete with a giant carved Mountie

The Duke and Duchess are set to spend a week travelling around Canada with kids George and Charlotte

IT'S a far cry from the fine English palaces they call home, but the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are set to check in at a £95-a-night hotel in Canada's remote north west.

The royal couple, who are on an eight-day trip around the country, will spend a night without kids George and Charlotte at the Coast High Country inn - best known for its giant carved mountie out the front.

The trip is the first overseas adventure for Princess Charlotte, with the 16-month-old and her three-year-old brother George joining their parents on the week-long visit.

But while the kids will be based at the Government House in British Columbia with their nanny, Prince Will and Kate will dash around the more than 30 engagements in the country.

Their engagements include a trip to the Great Bear Rainforest, as well as taking a float plane, watching a volleyball match and visiting the Immigration Services Society to meet Syrian refugees.

The family arrived at the Victoria Airport on September 24, with their first full day spent in Vancouver.

They are expected to stay at the Coast High Country Inn in Yukon with the couple reportedly given the best room available for £153 a night - a bill that will be picked up by the Canadian taxpayers.

Reviews of the inn on include praise for it's "comfy and clean rooms" and "convenient location".

The three-star inn, which has received largely  positive reviews online, is in the small town of Whitehorse, which played a part in the gold rush of the 19th century.

The inn offers a pub-type restaurant, The Deck, which serves food including pulled pork and rock fish tacos.

But the couple will reportedly have a special meal cooked up by the hotel's head chef.

A spokesman for the family said: "They cannot wait to get to Canada and start learning about new parts of a country that will play such an important part of their lives for many years to come."
