The official taste tester will be supplied with 365 days' worth of cheesy products, as well as a chauffeur to the pub where the grub is best enjoyed.

They will also jet off on an all-expenses-paid market research trip to brewery-loving Boston, accompanied by two friends.

To be in the running, candidates must prove they deserve "the best job in the world" on Instagram - and be called Gary.

Only people with the name of Germanic origin meaning "spear" are allowed to enter, in an attempt to steal Gary Lineker's crown as the King of Snacks.

The crisp-loving TV pundit is famously the face of Walkers, but Brew City reckons it's time for a new Gary on the block.

A panel of expert judges - including YouTuber JaackMaate and Instagram influencer Kate Ovens - will select the lucky winner.

A spokesperson said: "If you’re called Gary, live in the UK, love beer, are a cheese fanatic and most importantly can spot a superior snack when you see one, then here’s what you need to do to apply.

"Simply head over to Brew City’s Instagram page, hit the follow button, like the post here and comment beneath to share what your first act as CSO would be and why."

Product manager Becky Slater added: "Who wouldn’t want to get paid to eat a year's supply of cheese?

"It might even be worth changing your name to Gary."

The job terms and conditions highlight that "you don't actually have to do anything but collect your money and enjoy a year of cheese".

Products on offer as part of 12-month supply include halloumi fries and mozzarella melts.
