Former soap star Tracy Brabin sheds tears during emotional tribute to Jo Cox at Labour Party conference

FORMER soap actress Tracy Brabin broke down in tears yesterday – as tributes poured in for late Labour MP Jo Cox.
The ex-Corrie, EastEnders and Emmerdale star was chosen over the weekend to stand in the Batley and Spen by-election prompted by Jo Cox’s killing in June.
She struggled to hold back the tears yesterday as former Shadow Minister Rachel Reeves urged the party to unite out of dedication to the murdered MP.
Ms Reeves, who encouraged Jo Cox to stand for Parliament, urged party members to treat each other as “comrades”.
A moving tribute at the party conference in Liverpool included a video dedicated to Mrs Cox’s achievements – and ended with a long standing ovation.

Ms Reeves said: “"We know that our party and our country face challenging times.
"But as we debate and debate passionately this week, on conference floor and at fringe meetings, we here, all of us, we have far more in common than that which divides us.
"Let's treat each other as friends and as comrades.
